You know me, I’m a sucker for quick reads with all the hearts and flowers and mushy stuff. Well after finishing an ARC that moved me, I picked this little treat up. If you are looking for anything more than a HEA read, then you won’t find it here. However, if you want some love and big mushy hearts, then you got it.

I recently found Ruby with the Ice Planet Barbarians book one. It was neat to see a different side of her alien world she created. This takes place on a farm planet and seems like it’s even more isolated.
Emvor is on Cassa to be away from it all. He doesn’t like people, machines, or hustle and bustle. He is a scarred alien who just misses companionship. Realizing he could use a marriage of convince, he sends away for a bride. One think I liked about this was the internal dialogue he had. The author really got you feeling the war going on inside of him.
Nicola is trying to make the best possible outcome of a situation. She was taken when she was 12 and never saw her home again. This was an interesting spin to have her held captive from a young age. Her owner leaves her but works out this arrangement so she won’t be sold to the trenches of the wicked and unknown. I really enjoyed how she worked to bring Emvor out of his shell. I think they both were good for each other.
Overall this was a cute, short read. I enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone wanting to escape into another world.
