This was a request I received to read. It is a short, spicy, and an M/M read with magic. Stewart Horn packed a lot in this short story. I always enjoy finding quick reads and ones with the supernatural, magical elements. The folklore in this story was unique to me and I really enjoyed that portion of the tale.
Tom and Peter are in an insatiable relationship. Their relationship leads to fairies to watch, tempt, and trap. When Tom is intrigued and enticed he follows the fairies. Only not everything is as it seems.
Peter really likes Tom, and when the finds him missing, he goes on a quest to save him. He will be forced to admit and face his feelings. Both Peter and Tom will have to admit that what they feel is more than just a romp in the sheets. It has moved beyond lust and into something more with promise and hope.
With this being a short read, there isn’t a lot of backstory. That said I thought the author did a good job of painting a picture of a snapshot in time. I enjoyed the folklore and uniqueness of it. The only thing I didn’t prefer was the language they spoke with to each other. It just wasn’t my cup of tea.
That being said I give this short story 4 point shoes. It was quick and packed a lot in the short story. If you are an MM fan and looking for a short read, then I think you will enjoy this tale and what it has to offer.
