This is new to me to read a story about drag racing. I know nothing about this but Winter did an excellent job of writing the story and I did not feel lost while reading it.

Remy is Meg’s son. We first met him in Winter’s Devil’s Knights series. Now he is all grown and out on his own. Even though he’s a little bit away from home, his mom still interjects her crazy in his life. Remy grew into a strong loyal honest young man. He is working towards his dream of being a valuable pit crew teammate. His buddies, Frankie and Jay are all going for their goals and helping each other out. Remy’s good heart and morals have him stopping to help Harlyn. That one encounter has him knowing that this woman will change his life for the better.

Harlyn is doing her father a favor. Coming to help him but secretly hoping to rebuild a fragile relationship. Unknowingly she meets Remy who will take her heart and hold it captive. Harlyn is a fun, quirky character. I like how she stood up for herself against her father.

We do get to meet some past characters of Winter’s with Meg and the crew. The meeting was hilarious and had me laughing hysterically.

We also meet Frankie and Jay, Remy’s crewmates and friends. The camaraderie is strong and you can see the loyalty they have for each other. Together the three of them can overcome anything.

Roc is the manager and he has it out for Remy. I would really like to know his story and why he’s got a burr up his butt.

There is some angst and young aged drama, but overall this story was a lighthearted good read. While Harlyn and Remy’s HEA is perfect for them, the story ends with you wanting more. Winter knows how to leave you hanging. I give this story 5 Pointe Shoes on the dragstrip.
