This was another SS club read from back in July. Didn’t I tell you I was a little behind. 😉 Well I’m a paranormal fan, and was looking forward to this one. I only read book one, there are three books. The first book, is separated into three parts. You will get a resolution to an extent, but to know the whole story you will have to snag all three parts for the conclusion.
Carly feels the draw, to a place she doesn’t know where, but an urgency that she has to go. Her best friend Sierra decides to tag along for this life altering journey for them both. When they make it to the woods their lives change forever.
Overall I like Carly’s personality she seemed scared and shy at first but quickly stepped into her role. There were some moments where I did feel like it was dramatic. I skimmed some parts because it didn’t captivate me as much as I had hoped.
Sierra ends up in a twist of fate herself. If I do grab the other two books, it will definitely be to see how her story ends. We definitely don’t get that resolution. I felt like the first three in this book were laying the ground work for the impending storm.
If you like bear shifters then I would suggest this story. While it wasn’t enough for me to move on to the next book, I’m sure there are some who will like it. One thing I wished for this story was to have more individualized telling of it. I felt a bit overwhelmed that we had 4 females and their partners evolve in this story. It sometimes was confusing and just daunting to move between them all in these three parts, only to find out we don’t get a full resolution.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Carly is dreaming of a future. She isn’t sure what will unfold on this journey but it is monumental and life altering for her. She and her best friend Sierra start a cross-country trek to where the bear paw print calls to her. Along the way they meet some others that had the same calling.
There were some shocking moments in here that I enjoyed. I didn’t expect some things, but others I found myself skimming over. Parts of this felt rushed to me. The men in the story were just as you’d expect your bears to be. Growly, hot, and alpha like tendencies. They also loved beyond reason and supported their women.
It was a different twist on shifters finding mates, but this book alone, doesn’t give you the full conclusion. You will need the others in this series to find out how it all ends. Overall it is a four for me because I wanted more but less at the same time. More for each individual couple but less as the whole group. It did have a lot of history to set groundwork for the impending storm in this series.
