There are so many new releases this week I can’t keep up! Layla Delaney had a release on Sunday and I’m even late today. It has been a busy few days for me but I’m excited to bring you my review and overview of Finding Freedom, Layla’s newest release.
This story can be read as a stand alone, but is the conclusion to the Brothers in Arms Duet. I already introduced you to the first in this duet, so now meet more of Damien & Jana.
I am going to do a disclaimer, because I feel this is a little outside of Layla’s norm which isn’t a bad thing, just want you readers aware. There is some kinky action that you might not be used to with Layla but it’s sure to steam up your glasses.
Damien, the man whore, is on the prowl to prove a point. He wants to show Jana all that he can be and how good it can be for her. Damien is the type of guy that I would call guarded. Very few get to see the real him. I love how Jana got to experience glimpses of the true man Damien is but it wasn’t until near the end of the book, that she got the full understanding. He overall has a really good heart but lets the wrong head get in the way.
Jana isn’t one we knew a lot about in the previous story. We got to see more of her past and what made her the person she is. I sometimes felt like Jana was lost a bit emotionally. While a strong female solider, she was very vulnerable with matters of the heart. It was very yin/yang on personality.
There were some very funny moments in this story. I also had some shocking moments as well. It was full of surprises and drama with how the characters spoke to Layla as the tale played out. You will still get your HEA but this one will put you through the ringer with tests and hoops the couple jumps through to get there.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This second in the newest Layla duet is steamy and full of surprises. There is a lot of drama played out throughout the story and some of it will have you shaking your head at the characters. Overall I thought it was a great story with build up of tension and resolution to a HEA. The drama between the characters got to be a little too over the top at times though.
There are forces playing with Jana and Damien that will leave you speechless at the end. You won’t see it coming, I didn’t. Some of the forces will make childish antics arise that you will want to smack them with a frying pan.
Jana and Damien both had an emotional maturity that was much younger than their age. I think given their pasts they both had to grow on that playing field.
Damien finally realizes that he wants just one person in his life. The only one he has let down his guard to. He is definitely everything you’d expect from a military man. Strong, handsome, hot, great in bed, but he’s also a player. Reading him overcome the playing ways really pulled at you. You could feel his inner struggle to be believed and heard.
Jana has had it bad in the relationship department. She is so confused, she can’t trust her own feelings anymore. She has the vulnerable side that totally contradicts her soldier side. When Damien knocks through her wall around her heart, the roller coaster only gets crazier.
Some faves are back in this story and overall it is a drama that will have you fanning yourself and screaming at the same time.
