Join me for a little Q&A session with H.G. Lynch below. Find out some interesting facts about her and what she likes to read, eat, and do while writing.
What was your favorite book as a kid?
As a kid, I loved The Faraway Tree Collection by End Blyton and when I was slightly older, the Unfortunate Series of Events books by Lemony Snicket.
Who inspires you?
My current inspirations are Cassandra Clare and L.J. Smith. I’m a huge fan of the original Vampire Diaries books.
Do you fly by the seat of your pants or outline a story to write?
When I write, I’m not in control – the characters are, so yeah, I kind of just go with the flow.
What is your favorite genre to read?
Paranormal Romance is my genre, and I love it. It’s such a wide genre to work in – vampires, ghosts, faeries. The options for world building and stories are endless.
What is your latest 5 star read?
I’ve been pretty busy so I haven’t had time to read much lately, but I’m working on Page Morgan’s Grotesque series and adoring it. Definitely five stars.
What is the hardest part of being an author?’
The hardest part of being an author for me is feeling unsuccessful because I don’t have “NYT Bestseller” before my name on my books.
What is the most rewarding part?
The most rewarding part is that I have a group of dedicated, amazing fans from all over the world, some of whom I’ve become really good friends with!
What is something you must have near you when writing?
When I’m writing, I need my skull-shaped mug full of Coca-cola. The “full-fat” stuff, none of that diet nonsense. If I don’t have caffeine and sugar, I’m useless.
What is your favorite food?
My favourite food is either Dominos’ cheese pizza with the Garlic Dip, or homemade macaroni cheese.

H.G. Lynch is a Scottish Paranormal Romance author. She writes mostly young adult novels, with badass chicks and sometimes even badder boys. Her first novel, Born Dark, was published when she was just 18, and she now has over 20 published works, including short stories.
