SS book club read is back. For October, this was one of the reads. I have never read Ruby Dixon before and have several SS’s that have. I was excited this was a pick for the month of October. While I was excited, this just fell a little flat for me. It’s not a bad read, it just didn’t hit me as a story I had to finish the series for. There were bits that I was intrigued with and if honestly my TBR list EVER gets smaller, I might pick it up at book 2 but I’m not itching for it.
Georgie finds herself abducted by aliens and on a ship. When she crash lands in a cold desolate planet, she wonders if she is ever going to make it home. When Vektal finds her he doesn’t know what to make of the strange alien creature out in the snow. The only thing he knows for certain is that she is his.
The story plays out over Georgie and the others that have crashed onto the planet. There are some twists and surprises. I’m guessing some questions I have will be answered in the continuation of the series.
I felt it was a little quick and I couldn’t really get a read on the depth of the characters. I think this one had me lost because there was SO much content in this short story. There was so many subplots and other questions that I just felt lost some of the time. It was a lot to introduce in the opening book. I know back story needs developing but I would have loved some more on Georgie and Vektal after all the girls were found.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Georgie somehow finds herself kidnapped by aliens. When she is stranded with several other girls on a frozen planet, she has to decide if she wants to survive or not. She will have a lot of obstacles to overcome including a mate. When Vektal finds her, he knows that she is the one but can’t understand why fate has put him with her.
They both work to overcome language barriers and needs to lead them to their destiny. We meet a lot of others in this story and they will all play a part in living on this ice planet.
I enjoyed it but wanted more. I felt like Georgie and Vektal’s tale was overshadowed by the magnitude of introducing everything. So many characters that were introduced, subplots, and much more that it felt like their story was a back story to a much bigger picture.
If you are looking to get lost in an alien read check this story out.
