I read this when it first came out but since we all know I post blogs fashionably late, here is my take on Kingpin. This is deliciously sinful, and mushy sweet. You actually get two stories in this one which THANK YOU Alexa Riley! Loved that we got both Salvatore and Gio finding love.
Salvatore is the kingpin, nobody tells him no, and he gets what he wants. When Thea sneaks away in the dark of night, he has this burning urge to chase after her.
Thea isn’t sure what to do, she just knows that she has had enough of life. Salvatore comes crashing in and she isn’t sure if she should be relieved or frightened.
I like how Thea had her sass about her. While it was hidden part of the time when it came out you couldn’t help but chuckle at Sal’s reactions. Sal has a learning curve after being knocked on his ass by this beautiful angel.
Overall this story is fast paced and epic for baby making. You will get whiplash at how quickly these two fall in love. That said, it’s everything I love about Alexa Riley novels.
The bonus story of Giovanni and Emma was icing on this wonderful cake. Emma isn’t so shy and just a cute ball of happiness that lights up Gio’s world. Her sweetness lights up his darkest days. It is so cute how they fit together. This short story will have you grinning with mushy hearts in your eyes. It is definitely all about love and babies.
If you are looking for a great quick steam ready with Alexa Riley’s signature HEA ending, then snag Kingpin. You won’t be disappointed.
