L. Wilder is a favorite author of mine. I am behind on her stories, but hope to catch up soon. There are 4 more current releases of hers that I’m trying to get to! This is the second in the Redemption series, and involves people we’ve met in her Satan’s Fury MC.

It’s Max’s turn to have a story. This tale of redemption was a sweet burn. Like swallowing a sip of scotch on a winter’s day. I was wondering where the author would take me and she surprised me. I did not expect this one to play out the way it did and I LOVE IT!

Max has a past that he would assume forget. His life was altered on a fateful night and shattered days later. The haunts of his mind refused to let him rest. REfused to let him accept the infinite finality of that night. He lands a job with Nitro and resigns himself to a life of solitude and regrets. When Harper stumbles into his life again, he has a shockingly strong jolt and a sliver of hope for a second chance. Now he has to work for his second chance to become ever after.

Harper is lost, she is trying to find direction for her job and personal life. She is hoping the time away will allow her to find it. She never expected to see Max. He brings open wounds she never let heal. Max is her balm to the scars of life. She will have a second chance to find out if her heart and soul will be home and at peace. I enjoyed Harper’s personality. She is feisty, strong, and resourceful. When unlikely forces try to alter her path, she will want nothing more than to fall into Max’s embrace.

While a small role in this story, I loved Harper’s Mom. The voice of reason, understanding, and wisdom is warm and heartfelt.

Nitro and Tristen are active in this story. There are so many moments Max has with each of them. Tristen and Max have such a brother/sister bond. I really wanted to know how Max and they faired in the future. This was probably the only thing missing for me.

The conflicts that arose, were not what I expected. I loved that the author kept me on my toes. I had NO idea she would take us where she did, but I’m thrilled beyond belief.

5 Star

This blogger enjoyed the second stand alone in the Redemption series. L. Wilder weaves fantastic tales. I think I liked this one a smidge more that Nitro & Tristen’s story. The flow and plot were a harmonious blend. If you haven’t checked out L. Wilder before, I highly recommend her. Her stroes are some I read over, and over, and over again.

PS – This blogger is excited to meet her in July at a book signing!
