Lauren Rowe has a new release that puts us back with the Morgan brothers and their honorary brother from another mother, Zander. This was a fun read and if you haven’t read any of the Morgan standalone stories, fear not you won’t be lost if this is the first one you pick up. Lauren has a fabulous way to keep you up to date with all her characters, but not bog you down with recapping all of their stories. We get to see EVERYONE from her stories and that guarantees it will be a good time.

Zander is this amazing character. I like how he was the one who wasn’t afraid of emotions. He took the plunge with all of life in every facet. It was refreshing to read about a male character that was so well rounded and felt genuine to me. I enjoyed his interactions with Peen, his Mom, and everyone in the Morgan clan. This story definitely captures the meaning of family.

Aloha… I don’t know. She just didn’t do it for me like the females in Lauren’s previous stories. I don’t mind characters I don’t like, in fact, most of the time I like having a feeling other than hearts and flowers for my leading ladies. Aloha, I just couldn’t get into her at all. I’ve tried to put my finger on it but nothing comes to mind that sticks out, it just fell flat for me. Probably the one quality I liked about her, was how genuinely kind she was written to be. She was nice to everyone and while that can be a downfall, it can also be a positive. I think Lauren captured both beautifully.

Seeing the Morgan and Faraday clan was fantastic. I enjoyed that part and how it all fit together with the previous stories. I think the bond Zander has with the Morgan’s made the book for me. The way they all came together as a family was the best part. They all just fit together and join forces to be an unstoppable team full of cheer and heart.

I don’t want to spoil because there were a lot of surprises in this story. Some weren’t my fave and others, I did enjoy. The writing in the story is fantastic as always. Lauren is a gifted writer. The arc and plot of the story did flow and conclude. You aren’t left hanging. However, this one just wasn’t a fave for me. I give it four pointe shoes because of the entire collection, it’s probably one I won’t read again.
