Winter Travers is a fairly new author for me. I started reading her stories this year. Well Pipe released early, and I will have that review for you tomorrow. Check back and stay tuned for all that is Pipe. To lead into this story, I’m reviewing Nickel today. It is the first in the Fallen Lords series. If you haven’t met Winter, then this is a great book to start with.
In this series we meet Nickel and Karmen. While their story grows and develops, we also get some teasers as to where this series might go over time. I really enjoyed the suspense of the MC and the brothers. I had so many questions and some of the bigger ones won’t be answered but that’s okay. She has a way of satisfying your hunger for knowledge until the next release. You can tell from the get go, that there is something bigger brewing.
Nickel is the Sargent at Arms and has wanted nothing more than to make Karmen his. After stumbling upon her while visiting his Grandma, he stops at nothing to make Karmen see all that she is. When trouble comes knocking, Nickel will move heaven and hell to keep Karmen safe.
Karmen has had a rough go at life. When she finally gets her calm, normal, and stable Nickel comes crashing in. I liked Karmen. She was a female character that was strong yet vulnerable. How and what she overcomes is a lot of personal battles. It also isn’t something that changes all at once. Even at the end of it, she has to be the one to fight for herself. Nickel just helps her along the way.
We also meet some great secondary characters, I cannot wait to see where their stories go in this series. Nikki is the best friend everyone wants and offers support and unconditional love to Karmen. Pipe is Nickel’s best friend and gives a calm to his turmoil within the club.
If you want a new MC series, then check this one out. I don’t think you will be disappointed. I’m giving this a five because it was engaging and kept me reading. I genuinely am curious where she takes this series. Hands down so far I think this is Winter’s best.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Fallen Lords MC is making a rumble in its first novel. We meet so many new characters and the author lays the groundwork for the future of the series. I think this is the author’s best series yet. I cannot wait to see what happens in the series as a whole.
Nickel and Karmen are inevitable. They are going to happen and crash together. It’s just a matter of when and where. Nickel is the quintessential biker. He is rough around the edges and has a soft center for one girl. He also has a lot of potential. I liked how he had a role in the MC, but wasn’t one of the top guys. He doesn’t question the loyalty of his brothers, but the loyalty of others that make their involvement difficult.
Karmen doesn’t know what she is getting in to with Nickel. When he comes in like a whirlwind, he upsets her balance. She has to fight to keep control, and then struggles to decide if she wants that control. She has a lot of personal demons to battle and with Nickel and her bestie Nikki, she refuses to take it laying down.
There are some surprises and twists that you might expect but it makes for a sweet delicious read. I couldn’t put this down and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys MC or is looking for a new author.

Was this a naughty book or a “fade to black” book? I noticed there was no warnings in the blurb for adults only so I’m curious.
Naughty book 😎. I make sure if it’s limited promiscuous activity to note it lol. No warnings probably because there were not triggers. It is over 18 read 😉
