AJ is an author that I’m happy I found. I try to snatch a few extra minutes to read her stories. This one, I stayed up to finish. Now I only have one more to read of hers and I’ll be caught up! Maybe another sleepless night is in order haha.

JJ and Rocco are two characters we’ve met before in AJ’s St. Fleur series. This can be read as a stand-alone and you won’t be lost. That said, I definitely recommend reading them all.

Rocco is the mysterious mechanic. He doesn’t talk about his personal life. A chance mistake will make it so he doesn’t have the option. Especially when JJ is the one asking questions. Rocco gets a shot at winning the heart of JJ and he won’t let go this time. His plans include forever. Rocco struck me as a proud man and protector. When his sister needs protecting, the law might be bent. Read this story to see if Rocco looks good behind bars or if he puts his heart and trust in the beautiful hand of the law.

JJ followed her goals to become a police officer. She thought she was happy. Coming home should have been nice except JJ has secrets. She keeps to herself not letting the girls butt in on her love life. She does have a soft spot for Rocco. When the cuffs come out they aren’t for play. JJ has to convince him that she can help him and keep her self safe.

This story may be short but it packs a large punch on a serious topic. AJ handled it with phenomenal grace and heart. JJ sees the ugliness of St. Fleur and has such a huge heart. How she helps the people in her town will make you smile. While there is a happy ending, there are tough spots to move past.

My only complaint as a reader and fan was it was too short LOL. I didn’t want JJ and Rocco’s story to end. I also wanted more Jenna and she could have a story…..hint, hint AJ 🙂

This short story is a fantastic way to meet a new author. I would definitely recommend it. I give this book 5 twirling pointe shoes.
