Layla continues the story we were left wanting at the end of A Shot at Love. We dive right in where we left off and hit the sand running straight to a HEA. Brianna is Josh’s little sister. She has dreams, goals, and aspirations. I am not sure what I was expecting, but reading about what her vision was for her future turned out to be unique and fitting of her personality. I found her hard and soft with her attitude and take on life. I felt she had a lot of growing to do in this story and matured by the end.
Meeting Steve in Josh’s book, we find that he is the token big brother to Bri. Well that is the last place he wants to be. Layla pulled out some surprises with him in this story. I wasn’t expecting things and it made for an exciting read.
This wonderful conclusion to the duet couldn’t be more entertaining and heartwarming. I had several moments where I laughed and then others where my heart was in my throat. Any Layla fan will want to add this to their collection. If you are new to Layla, then check out book 1 and grab book 2 as well.

Another great read by Layla! Fall in love with Bri and Steve as the waves crash in on their love and give chase to a happy ending. Layla packed so much in this story with the emotions that Bri goes through. You can see her grow as a character throughout the tale. She learns a lot by doing first and thinking later. I think what I liked most was the strong bond she had with her brother. You could feel the love, adoration and acceptance they both have towards each other.
Steve has always been a pillar of stability in Bri’s life as a brother figure. He is desperately wanting more thinking that it could lead to the ultimate HEA in his life. He paid such attention to her and knew her better than she knew herself. It was great seeing the dynamics of the little things they knew about each other.
Can I say the highlight of this was definitely Grandma. She is at it again and just as much a spitfire as she was in the first story of this duet.
