Winter’s second book with the Fallen Lords MC is out. We get to meet the VP Pipe and how he has to swallow some man pride to fight for Nikki. Overall this was a great read and introduced even more characters. I laughed a lot in this one, and I think that’s what made me enjoy it the most. I predicted some of the turmoil that would arise, but also was thrown for a ringer with that ending.
Pipe is in his early thirties and well, he’s an asshole. Talk about a man who doesn’t know what to do with emotions and feelings. It is like he was stunted in that growth department. He realizes a little too late that the best thing slipped away like a thief in the night. When he has a second chance to make it right he will do what he can to keep Nikki in his arms and heart.
Nikki has this tough exterior but when her heart cracks, it causes this wave of doubt to consume her. Clear thinking is not on her mind, all that is, is mending a heart that broke with a knock. On her way to a new beginning she meets a unique friend and an unlikely protector.
I found this book more humorous than the first in the series but really enjoyed it. It’s a second chance romance. It also played a little realistic to me. I mean let’s be honest here, women in real life feel with their heart more than logic of their head. Men, sometimes can’t formulate their feelings until it’s too late. This is exactly what happened.

We pick up where Nickel left off, meeting more of Pipe and Nikki. They are struggling apart and figure out they will need to work harder at the second chance they were given. When Nikki finds unexpected fears arising, she actually turns to Pipe to protect her. One of my favorite parts was when Karmen wanted to take her away for the night and Nikki said she felt safer with Pipe. That was a swoon moment. Their story I felt was not your traditional MC story/issues. I liked that though. I think it is more realistic to real world and that some times issues are from two stubborn people who make a mountain out of a mole hill. Nikki and Pipe are great characters in my opinion. You see their flaws, strengths, and willingness to work at overcoming things together.
Alice – well she is the comedic relief in this story. I cannot wait for her to have a book all her own.
Wren – is new and will leave you speechless.
Wrecker, Maniac, Nickel, Karmen, & Cora are back and only add to the story. We get to find out more of what the MC is facing and I like the slow steady build of that plot. I feel when it all comes to light it will leave me without words.
