While there were points that were dark, you could see the twisted light filtered in. The unusual love blended and bled dark red. The fire burning between Onyx and Torryn, will burn pages in a book and bring cities down in flames. Ryan and Chelsea captures do many little moments and created this sensual dance of dark and grey, hate and love, lust and passion. It moved me and I had a book hangover for weeks beyond.
Torryn has become Collateral. Her grey world is about to turn dark and stormy. When survival is all she can breathe, she will go in the depth of her mind to sustain herself. When her mind is as twisted as the reality, tiny fractures of light will illuminate a new normal. She will come to find that a dark starless night can be a beautiful thing. I don’t think I have read such a unique female as Torryn. The tenacity and resiliency she has will see her through the blackest of nights.
Onyx, well he has hidden truths and secrets. When Collateral becomes more than a means to an end, he reverts back in to the dark. The light will only get him burned. When he realizes his Collateral is more of bleeding red than white light, it will seep into his dark and he will consume her. There are so many layers to Onyx. He is like a volcano, strong exterior with a molten fiery lava in the center that will burn you to the core.
In my mind we get to meet what I call the four corners of the Powerhouse. What a formidable group. I am intrigued by their dynamics and how they play out in this story.
I don’t want to spoil this, so it’s a short review. I can tell you, you will love it, hate it, scream, and melt. These authors outdid themselves. This dark love is a love that will bring you through the fire, burn you in their wake, and forge together tighter than steel.
