Thank you to the wonderful Martha who sent me this book from a signing she attended. If you want to hang with some wonderful authors and romance readers, check out Indie Authors and More. We have a blast and are no drama, fun sharing, and good times with good books.
Overall, I enjoyed this read. Once I got about 100 pages in, it took off for me. I will warn some that if you aren’t fond of drug usage in reads, then this might not be for you. It covers a girl who against all odds is trying to make a HEA for herself.
Red is a girl who was left to fend for herself at a very young age. She has fought tooth and nail to get her wish of a HEA. When Regg comes into her world, there is a battle that goes on within whether she is good enough for him and herself. One think I did like is that she worked to become strong on her own. The first time she had Regg, the second time was all her own doing.
Regg is her brother’s best friend and brother in the MC. He takes one look at Red and knows her potential. I liked what he saw in her. He was willing to fight for her and give her the HEA she deserves. He is strong but has a silent soft side that he only shows for Red.
If you haven’t read Kim Jones, then I think this is a perfect book to start with. She is definitely an author I will check out more from in the future.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Red is at the bottom. She’s not sure how it all fell out from under her but the lights on stage don’t shine for her any more. Her brother Luke is trying to save her but only one man can, Regg.
This story has an unlikely heroine who comes to terms that only she can bring herself back out from the darkness. One thing I did like about this story was how Red fought. She was a well written character.
Regg had so many layers that I didn’t expect. He was strong, silent, and ready to fight for Red. Even when things were stacked against his hopes, he eventually sees the truth to fight for Red.
I liked all the characters and it was a great introduction to them all. I did find it a bit slow for me in the beginning but it picked up after about 100 pages in. I also felt the ending was rushed with the resolution. I don’t know, I just wanted a bit more when Red was found. That said, I would recommend this book and hope you find a new author to enjoy like I did.
