Well can you tell Chelsea is a fave of mine. I just can’t seem to quit reading her stories…not that I’d want to anyway. I’m not sure what took me so long to read these, as they’ve been out for a while, but I finally took the plunge. I wasn’t disappointed at all. Loved all three of these short stories and wanted it to never end. She always does have a way to make you crave more. I’m still working up to read Final Ride (check out the Hellion’s MC if you haven’t) but I just don’t want to dammit (stomps foot). If I read it, which I know it will be epic, it means that is the end of the Hellion’s and I don’t want it to end. So, as I digressed into the crazy new blogger that randomly rants, here’s my review on the Roughneck Series.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’m not sure what rock I’ve been living under to miss these short stories by a fave author of mine but I’m catching up! These stories are three shorts that involve three men who are family, friends, and coworkers. The timeline flows but it is also done so that even though a lot of time passes it doesn’t seem forced or like pieces are missing.
Maverick and Kenzy’s tale was sweet. I liked that the tension and turmoil wasn’t an outside threat but the two growing to overcome pasts, current situations, and life long changes. It was a great intro into this series and introduced all the supporting characters. It was fun but also serious. Man that epilogue just put some dust in my eye! 😢
Heath and LoraLeigh – I can’t even go on about this story. It is raw and so haunting but so sweet at the same time. The hope that was given and the freedom just rested with you. Even though it was a short story, it was well written to address the issues in LoraLeigh’s life. Heath was a man that would make any Mom proud. He was well written and had great qualities that shined amidst his rough exterior.
Lance and Candace – I enjoyed seeing more of Lance and when he told off her Mom! Yeah I was like drop 🎤 and peace out. There might have been a standing o in my head for that. I can’t even cover how this story held an incredible journey of finding the best in yourself. That ending too! Loved how it was a big stick it to Wade.
Overall these short stories were great. You don’t feel lost or like your missing any piece of the puzzle. Chelsea did a great job of having them end but not really. You don’t feel like she missed anything but you will desperately want more from them. I know I do.
