Since I’m so far behind from flu and just not being able to read. I finally finished this ARC by Romi Hart. This is a new author for me. This story is actually an 8 book collection of different short sports reads. Oddly enough sports reads aren’t my normal go to books. This is going to be a bit different, and a little long for a post. I plan to break out each book and review it. I will say some of the stories fell flat for me. If you give this book a chance, there are some cute gems in here. I’m glad I kept reading through all of the stories and found some cute insta-love reads. I would read another story by Romi since I had some in this collection that I enjoyed. Overall the book as a whole averaged a 4⭐️ for me, so that is what it will have on Amazon and GR.
One Kiss to Win or Addiction were my favorites out of this book.

Dirty Play – 3⭐️’s

I struggled to read this one. I’ll be honest, I put the book down and walked away for a long time. I knew it was a short insta-love type read, but I was so confused. It was extremely difficult to follow along and relate to any of the characters.
Lyndia, I honestly wanted to smack. She had nothing to offer me as a character and annoyed me the entire story.
Rey, was your typical sports man. He wasn’t sure what to do with Lyndia (he’s not alone). In the end they get their HEA, but it is now without a lot of push and pull and headache.

Dangerous Play – 3.5⭐️’s

This one was marginally better on the flow of the story from the first. There were some moments in the beginning where I didn’t feel the pull to relate to the characters.
Nate was the one to drive me crazy in the beginning. His arrogant attitude seemed over the top. Amanda struck me as the girl next door.
This one was a definite fast paced insta-love read. I wish the beginning had pulled me more. The ending was stronger and a perfect HEA ending you would want in this type of read.

One Kiss to Win – 4⭐️’s

I actually wish the author had led with this story. It was a solid 4 stars for me. It was so cute and sweet, like any new college romance should be. This one had depth and detail packed in the short story and flowed beautifully. While still fast paced and full of insta-love, it was an enjoyable read.
Laney is working to make her mark on the world. What she didn’t plan on was Jett. When she was unsure of whom to give a chance to, drama brings in craziness like no other. All she has to realize is her heart will guide her in the right direction.
Jett’s world stops when Laney walks in to class. The author gave him a great personality. He was a fun character to read about.
Overall this was a super cute story. If you want a quick read with insta-love, then this one is it for you.

One Chance to Win – 4⭐️’s

This is another cute delicious read. It’s insta everything but I liked this one. Alex and Jasmine meet by chance. This story had a lot of dramatics on the characters parts, but fit with their ages I thought. You could really feel how torn Jasmine was through it all. I love how each character got a reality check from someone outside of their inner circle. They both had to grow up in a way but also grow up individually.
This is another cute, quick, steamy short insta-love read.

One Cheer to Win – 3.5⭐️’s

This was another young love cute story. Kassie and Ryan had lots of hearts and flowers floating about them. I would’ve given it a 4, but really felt there needed to be some closure with her family. They seemed like a big importance to her, yet the hearts and flowers Ryan threw didn’t mention meeting them or asking them something. A paragraph or two would have cleaned it up for me, I’m sure.
Kassie was cute, smart, bubbly, and fun. She was captured perfectly for an older teen. Ryan was also a fun character to read about. Overall cute, fun, and insta everything. You might get a cavity on the sweetness of this one.

Temptation – 3.5⭐️’s

I really wanted to like this one. I struggled with Reesa’s past and how her relationship with Marc played out. I thought there were some really sweet moments, but I also had a lot of “huh” being said. While it is fiction and insta-everything, I just felt it a little too rushed to be believable. Marc and Reesa both had to let go to find their happiness together. It was an okay read for me, but now as enjoyable as the two 4 stars above.

Addiction – 4⭐️’s

I enjoyed this story a lot! It is tied as my favorite out of the whole book. The way it played out was romantic and sweet. Kylie was a fun character to read about. She had a lot of great qualities and it was fun to watch her story unfold. Jordan was a fun character too. He was definitely stubborn but had good intentions.
The author managed to surprise me, and I like that. It was not expected and played out well. This is again super quick in the love department but probably my favorite read.

Passion – 3.5⭐️’s

This one picks up where Jordan & Kylie’s story ends. I liked the banter with Jordan and Krys that bled into this story. It was fun adding Amy’s comments to the mix. Dex makes Krys’ heart stop and has this battle to win her over. Some of the interactions had it being a little too dramatic for me, hence the 3.5 vs 4. But, overall this was quick, sweet, and likable. I enjoyed how it played out with Amy thrown in to the mix.

Big Slide – 3.5⭐️’s

This one was cute. It was still a whirl wind romance but played out well. I liked the single Mom aspect of it and think the author did a good job packing a lot into this story. It wasn’t as captivating as the others, and I found myself skimming a lot, hence the rating. I did enjoy the epilogue and thought it was a perfect ending for them.

There you have it! One thing I liked later on, was how the stories overlapped with the characters. You didn’t get that in the first few and they just seemed out-of-place with the rest of the set. Another thing for this reader, was after 8 books I felt worn down. It was pretty much the same outline, just different characters and personalities. As individual reads, it wouldn’t be as noticeable or monotonous, but in one big book, it fell flat.
