Lauren’s debut story and she came out with a bang IMO. This was a short story but steamy read. I found out about this debut novel in the Significant Otter’s FB Group. It’s Otterly adorable in there and Lauren mentioned her first novel releasing. I snatched this up in the beginning of July, and am just NOW getting to blog about it.
I don’t normally venture in to the BDSM world for a lot of my stories, just not my normal cup of tea, but this story was very enjoyable for me. It is a short read but packed full of suspense, love, trust, and a HFN.
Carrie is overcoming her past. She isn’t looking for anything when Malakai parks his car. When their worlds collide it is sparks and intrigue right from the start. They head on a journey of finding what makes the other tic and can Carrie submit and take a risk with her heart and trust.
I have to add I am a huge fan of the name Malakai. It is just a strong name and it fits this character’s personality to a “T”. I couldn’t picture any other name working for this character she created.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I thought this was a great debut novel for Lauren Luman. This is my first story by her and I really enjoyed it. The characters were interesting and I felt that in the short story, she was able to bring it all together.
Carrie has a past that haunts her. When Malakai pushes her to the limit. She has to decide if it’s worth it to trust again and love again. When she has to fight for what she wants, it will leave you flipping the page quickly to find the outcome.
Malakai is the strong silent type that knows what he wants. When Carrie makes her way into his life, he becomes vulnerable and I enjoyed that. His attraction to her is instantaneous and fierce. He will stop at nothing to protect her.
Overall this was a great read. I would definitely recommend it and really enjoyed it. The ending was a HFN that fit perfectly within the frame of the plot and story. Also, the time moved seamlessly in this story. You didn’t feel like it was rushed.
